How to Prepare Your Baby's Formula

Because powdered formula is not sterile, failing to follow these steps correctly may make your baby ill.

Step 1: Wash and sterilise
Wash your hands thoroughly. Sterilise all bottles, teats and utensils before use (boil for 5 minutes or use a steriliser).

Step 2: Prepare the water and powder
Use water that has been boiled and cooled to lukewarm. Mix the correct number of level scoops for your baby's age exactly as shown on the pack — do not pack or heap the scoop.

Step 3: Mix, cool and feed
Shake until completely dissolved. Test the temperature and feed immediately.

Discard any unused feed within 1 hour. If not used immediately, prepared formula should be stored in the refrigerator at 2-4°C and used within 24 hours.
