Preparation & Feeding

How to Prepare Your Child's Formula

Step 1: Wash your hands thoroughly before preparing the feed.

Step 2: Wash the feeding bottle, teat, cap and all utensils, then sterilise in a steriliser or by boiling in water for 5 minutes.

Step 3: To prepare one feed, mix 3 level scoops of powder into 180ml of lukewarm, previously boiled water.

Step 4: Shake until completely dissolved. Test the temperature and feed.

Step 5: Discard unused feed within 1 hour. If not used immediately, prepared formula should be stored in the refrigerator at 2-4°C and used within 24 hours.

Switching from another formula: introduce gradually over 5 days (Days 1-2: 2 feeds current milk + 1 feed Similac; Days 3-4: 1 feed current milk + 2 feeds Similac; Day 5 onwards: 3 feeds Similac).

Storage

Store powder in a cool, dry place. Do not refrigerate. Use within 3-4 weeks of opening and always check the expiry date on the pack.
